Surah Ad-Dukhaan (سُورَةُ الدُّخَانِ)
The Smoke · 59 ayahs · Urdu translation Kanz-ul-Iman and English
44:1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ حمٓ
حٰمٓ
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.)
44:2وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
قسم اس روشن کتاب کی
By oath of this clear Book.
44:3إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍۢ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
بیشک ہم نے اسے برکت والی رات میں اتارا بیشک ہم ڈر سنانے والے ہیں
We have indeed sent it down in a blessed night – indeed it is We Who warn.
44:4فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
اس میں بانٹ دیا جاتا ہے ہر حکمت والا کام
During it are distributed all the works of wisdom.
44:5أَمْرًۭا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
ہمارے پاس کے حکم سے، بیشک ہم بھیجنے والے ہیں
By a command from Us – indeed it is We Who send.
44:6رَحْمَةًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
تمہارے رب کی طرف سے رحمت، بیشک وہی سنتا جانتا ہے،
A mercy from your Lord; indeed He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing.
44:7رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
وہ جو رب ہے آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے، اگر تمہیں یقین ہو
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you people believe.
44:8لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
اس کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں وہ جِلائے اور مارے، تمہارا رب اور تمہارے اگلے باپ دادا کا رب،
There is no worship except for Him – He gives life and causes death; your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.
44:9بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّۢ يَلْعَبُونَ
بلکہ وہ شک میں پڑے کھیل رہے ہیں
Rather they are in doubt, playing.
44:10فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
تو تم اس دن کے منتظر رہو جب آسمان ایک ظاہر دھواں لائے گا،
So you await the day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke. –
44:11يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ
کہ لوگوں کو ڈھانپ لے گا یہ ہے دردناک عذاب،
Which will envelop the people; this is a painful punishment.
44:12رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
اس دن کہیں گے، اے ہمارے رب! ہم پر سے عذاب کھول دے ہم ایمان لاتے ہیں
Thereupon they will say, “O our Lord! Remove the punishment from us – we now accept faith.”
44:13أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
کہاں سے ہو انہیں نصیحت ماننا حالانکہ ان کے پاس صاف بیان فرمانے والا رسول تشریف لاچکا
How is it possible for them to accept guidance, whereas a Noble Messenger who speaks clearly has already come to them?
44:14ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌۭ مَّجْنُونٌ
اس سے روگرداں ہوئے اور بولے سکھایا ہوا دیوانہ ہے
Whereas they had then turned away from him and said, “He is a madman, tutored!”?
44:15إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
ہم کچھ دنوں کو عذاب کھولے دیتے ہیں تم پھر وہی کرو گے
We now remove the punishment for some days – so you will again commit the same.
44:16يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
جس دن ہم سب سے بڑی پکڑ پکڑیں گے بیشک ہم بدلہ لینے والے ہیں،
The day when We will seize with the greatest seizure – We will indeed take revenge.
44:17۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ كَرِيمٌ
اور بیشک ہم نے ان سے پہلے فرعون کی قوم کو جانچا اور ان کے پاس ایک معزز رسول تشریف لایا
And before them We indeed tried the people of Firaun, and an Honourable Noble Messenger came to them.
44:18أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
کہ اللہ کے بندوں کو مجھے سپرد کردو بیشک میں تمہارے لیے امانت والا رسول ہوں،
Who said, “Give the bondmen of Allah into my custody; I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger for you.”
44:19وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
اور اللہ کے مقابل سرکشی نہ کرو، میں تمہارے پاس ایک روشن سند لاتا ہوں
And saying, “And do not rebel against Allah; I have brought a clear proof to you.”
44:20وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
اور میں پناہ لیتا ہوں اپنے رب اور تمہارے رب کی اس سے کہ تم مجھے سنگسار کرو
“And I take the refuge of my Lord and yours, against your stoning me.”
44:21وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
اور اگر میرا یقین نہ لاؤ تو مجھ سے کنارے ہوجاؤ
“And if you do not believe in me, then have no relation with me.”
44:22فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌۭ مُّجْرِمُونَ
تو اس نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ یہ مجرم لوگ ہیں،
He therefore prayed to his Lord, “These are a guilty nation!”
44:23فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
ہم نے حکم فرمایا کہ میرے بندوں کو راتوں رات لے نکل ضرور تمہارا پیچھا کیا جائے گا
We commanded him, “Journey with My bondmen in a part of the night – you will be pursued.”
44:24وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّغْرَقُونَ
اور دریا کو یونہی جگہ جگہ سے چھوڑ دے بیشک وہ لشکر ڈبو دیا جائے گا
“And leave the sea as it is, parted in several places; indeed that army will be drowned.”
44:25كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
کتنے چھوڑ گئے باغ اور چشمے،
How many gardens and water-springs they left behind!
44:26وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ
او رکھیت اور عمدہ مکانات
And fields and grand palaces!
44:27وَنَعْمَةٍۢ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ
اور نعمتیں جن میں فارغ البال تھے
And favours amongst which they were rejoicing!
44:28كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
ہم نے یونہی کیا اور ان کا وارث دوسری قوم کو کردیا
That is what We did; and We made another nation their heirs.
44:29فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
تو ان پر آسمان اور زمین نہ روئے اور انہیں مہلت نہ دی گئی
So the heavens and the earth did not weep for them, and they were not given respite.
44:30وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
اور بیشک ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو ذلت کے عذاب سے نجات بخشی
And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture.
44:31مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
فرعون سے، بیشک وہ متکبر حد سے بڑھنے والوں سے،
From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors.
44:32وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
اور بیشک ہم نے انہیں دانستہ چن لیا اس زمانے والوں سے،
And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time.
44:33وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٌۭا۟ مُّبِينٌ
ہم نے انہیں وہ نشانیاں عطا فرمائیں جن میں صریح انعام تھا
And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours.
44:34إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
بیشک یہ کہتے ہیں،
Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; –
44:35إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
وہ تو نہیں مگر ہمارا ایک دفعہ کا مرنا اور ہم اٹھائے نہ جائیں گے
“There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.”
44:36فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
تو ہمارے باپ دادا کو لے آؤ اگر تم سچے ہو
“Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!”
44:37أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۢ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
کیا وہ بہتر ہیں یا تبع کی قوم اور جو ان سے پہلے تھے ہم نے انہیں ہلاک کردیا بیشک وہ مجرم لوگ تھے
Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals.
44:38وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ
اور ہم نے نہ بنائے آسمان اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے کھیل کے طور پر
And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play.
44:39مَا خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
ہم نے انہیں نہ بنایا مگر حق کے ساتھ لیکن ان میں اکثر جانتے نہیں
We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know.
44:40إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
بیشک فیصلہ کا دن ان سب کی میعاد ہے،
Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them.
44:41يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًۭى شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
جس دن کوئی دوست کسی دوست کے کچھ کام نہ آئے گا اور نہ ان کی مدد ہوگی
The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67)
44:42إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
مگر جس پر اللہ رحم کرے بیشک وہی عزت والا مہربان ہے،
Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful.
44:43إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
بیشک تھوہڑ کا پیڑ
Indeed the tree of Zaqqum, –
44:44طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
گنہگاروں کی خوراک ہے
Is the food of the sinners.
44:45كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
گلے ہوئے تانبے کی طرح پیٹوں میں جوش مارتا ہے،
Like molten copper; it churns in their bellies.
44:46كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
جیسا کھولتا پانی جوش مارے
Like the churning of boiling water.
44:47خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
اسے پکڑو ٹھیک بھڑکتی آگ کی طرف بزور گھسیٹتے لے جاؤ،
“Seize him, and forcibly drag him right to the blazing fire.”
44:48ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
پھر اس کے سر کے اوپر کھولتے پانی کا عذاب ڈالو
“Then pour on his head the punishment of boiling water.”
44:49ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
چکھ، ہاں ہاں تو ہی بڑا عزت والا کرم والا ہے
Saying “Taste it! Indeed you only are the most honourable, the dignified!”
44:50إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
بیشک یہ ہے وہ جس میں تم شبہہ کرتے تھے
“Indeed this is what you used to doubt about.”
44:51إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍۢ
بیشک ڈر والے امان کی جگہ میں ہیں
Indeed the pious are in a place of peace.
44:52فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
باغوں اور چشموں میں،
In Gardens and water-springs.
44:53يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍۢ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍۢ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
پہنیں گے کریب اور قنادیز آمنے سامنے
They will be dressed in fine silk and embroidery, facing one another (on thrones).
44:54كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍۢ
یونہی ہے، اور ہم نے انہیں بیاہ دیا نہایت سیاہ اور روشن بڑی آنکھوں والیوں سے،
So it is; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes.
44:55يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
اس میں ہر قسم کا میوہ مانگیں گے امن و امان سے
In it they will ask for all kinds of fruit, with safety.
44:56لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
اس میں پہلی موت کے سوا پھر موت نہ چکھیں گے اور اللہ نے انہیں آگ کے عذاب سے بچالیا،
They will not taste death again in it, except their former death; and Allah has saved them from the punishment of fire.
44:57فَضْلًۭا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
تمہارے رب کے فضل سے، یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے،
By the munificence of your Lord; this is the great success.
44:58فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
تو ہم نے اس قرآن کو تمہاری زبان میں آسان کیا کہ وہ سمجھیں
And We have made this Qur’an easy in your language, for them to understand.
44:59فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
تو تم انتظار کرو وہ بھی کسی انتظار میں ہیں
Therefore wait (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they too are waiting.
